OUR SMALL PRODUCERS AND ENTREPRENEURS FROM THE MIXTECA REGION NEED US
Many small producers strive to succeed with their crops and businesses; however, the lack of services, infrastructure, and talent migration in their communities limits their access to support and guidance in generating decent sources of income.
WE COUNT ON YOU TO BOOST THEM
WHAT DO WE DO TO HELP SMALL SCALE PRODUCERS IN THE MIXTECA REGION?
Many small producers sell their products to intermediaries at very low prices, not covering the production costs, just to have some cash income. Others manage to sell occasionally at markets and fairs, sometimes bartering their products. However, this does not meet their family's needs, as they only have survival incomes. In the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Chiapas, 90% of jobs are generated by micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and 90% of these jobs do not provide social security benefits. Moreover, over 60% of these jobs do not even cover the basic needs. This leads to talent migration and dependence on remittances.
